MASScot aims to support people who have been diagnosed with Melanoma and other skin cancers. They provide complementary support, counselling and therapy services for skin cancer patients and their carers.
They also raise awareness of skin cancer issues in Scottish schools & colleges, supermarkets, conferences, at Parliament and online. Since 2013, MASScot’s schools education project has reached over 40,000 pupils in across Scotland; educating young people on the dangers of the sun and the importance of sun protection. This is particularly important as Melanoma is now the most common cancer in 15-34 year olds in Scotland.
MASScot’s campaign work focuses on issues such as stricter licensing for sunbed operators, and increasing the number of specialist dermatologists. We also run fundraising events throughout the year to raise awareness and support our work.
